TMHP Provider Portal: How to Log In, Verify Eligibility, and Submit Claims
Step-by-step guide to accessing the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership portal
The TMHP provider portal — available at www.tmhp.com — is the online system Texas Medicaid providers use to verify patient eligibility, submit claims, check payment status, and manage enrollment. Access requires a registered TexMedConnect account.
How to Log In to the TMHP Provider Portal
- Go to www.tmhp.com
- Click “Provider Login” in the top navigation
- Enter your TexMedConnect username and password
- Select your provider account if you are associated with multiple organizations
- Access your dashboard to verify eligibility, submit claims, or manage your account
If you do not yet have a TexMedConnect account, your organization’s administrator must set one up through the TMHP website before you can log in.

First-Time Users: How to Create a TMHP Account
New providers or staff needing portal access must register through TexMedConnect:
- Go to www.tmhp.com and click “New User Registration”
- Your organization’s TexMedConnect Administrator must first create your user account and assign appropriate access levels
- You will receive an email with login credentials once your account is set up
- Log in and complete any required security setup before accessing portal tools
Note: Individual providers cannot self-register without an organizational administrator account already in place. Contact TMHP at 1-800-925-9126 if you need help with account setup.
TMHP Eligibility Verification
Eligibility verification is one of the most frequently used TMHP portal tools. It confirms whether a patient is currently enrolled in Texas Medicaid before a visit or procedure. Providers can verify eligibility three ways:
| Method | How to Access |
|---|---|
| TMHP portal (online) | Log in → Eligibility Verification tool |
| Automated phone line | Call 1-800-925-9126, follow eligibility prompts |
| Electronic verification (EDI) | Through your billing software using ANSI X12 270/271 transactions |
Medicaid eligibility can change month to month — always verify at each visit rather than relying on previous records. A patient covered last month may not be covered today.
What You Can Do Inside the TMHP Portal
- Verify patient eligibility — confirm active Medicaid coverage before providing services
- Submit claims — file Medicaid claims electronically for reimbursement
- Check claim status — track submitted claims and view payment details
- Prior authorization requests — submit and track prior auth requests for certain services
- Provider enrollment — update enrollment information, add service locations, or enroll new providers
- Remittance advice — view and download explanation of payment documents
- Billing resources — access billing guides, fee schedules, and policy updates
TMHP Provider Enrollment
Before a provider can bill Texas Medicaid, they must be enrolled through TMHP. Enrollment is managed through the TMHP website and requires:
- A valid National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Texas Medicaid provider application completed through tmhp.com
- Supporting documentation depending on provider type (license, tax ID, etc.)
Enrollment processing times vary. TMHP recommends submitting enrollment applications well in advance of when you plan to begin seeing Texas Medicaid patients.
Common Login Problems and Fixes

What This Means for Seniors and Families
If you are a Texas Medicaid recipient — not a provider — you do not need to log into TMHP yourself. Your doctors and healthcare providers handle the portal on their end. However, if a provider tells you there is a billing issue or your coverage couldn’t be verified, TMHP is the system involved.
